Resident foodie and ... gulp ... Frank Zappa fan, Dan leads our research team where we perform both traditional and novel user experience research techniques. All our client engagements are varied; Dan helps determine which research activities are the most appropriate, will maximize ROI, and will collect the most useful data for a particular project.
After seven years working with hard-to-use interfaces in technical support, Dan found his User Experience calling after participating in a usability study. He then quickly enrolled in the MBA+MS in Human Factors in Information Design program at Bentley University. After graduating from Bentley, Dan spent two years at an interactive agency performing usability and neuromarketing research studies. For the latter research, Dan investigated best practices in eye tracking and biofeedback research methodologies. He joined Mad*Pow in 2011 as our first full-time researcher.
Dan has served on the board of directors for the Boston chapter of the User Experience Professionals Association since 2012 and currently serves as the chapter president. He holds a BA in Psychology from Brandeis University and is particularly interested in visual space perception. Dan has also taught in the Bentley University HF certificate program and the Kent State MS in Design program.
When not in the office, Dan can be found kayaking, driving his MINI, cooking a mean French onion soup, or hiking in the woods of New Hampshire.
