Experience Strategy Director

Mad*Pow’s greatest asset is our people. As an Experience Strategy Director, you will be joining our team of strategists, and service designers. We are seeking a talented, passionate and multifaceted individual who has the skill and excitement to lead client projects, communicate process, maintain quality and guide staff members toward successful consulting initiatives.

A Mad*Pow Strategy Director should have expertise in service design methodologies, and experience applying customer experience, human centered design, and behavior based research methodologies to inform new strategies and service solutions.

This is a full-time position offering a fun and exciting working environment in a rapidly growing company, competitive salary, and great benefits. We will look at candidates who can commute to our Boston, MA or Portsmouth, NH offices.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Development and communication of ideas that are easy for others to grasp; including presentation skills suitable for client executives and C-suite board members
  • Leading consultant teams to research, capture, and articulate both existing and new customer experiences that reflect a deep understanding of people, services, values, behavior and systems; this includes the visual communication of business ecosystems, customer experiences, and operational processes
  • Leading and participating in research efforts to understand people and their needs, frustrations, and motivations
  • Capturing and articulating insightful, empathetic understanding of individuals through persona development and narrative storytelling
  • Leverage strategy and service design methodologies in the development of new customer experiences and business solution
  • Facilitating workshops, and conducting training sessions for co-design, service design and other specific methodologies for the general public and Mad*Pow clients
  • Managing client projects, supporting and facilitating communication with client teams
  • Coordinating project activities, managing internal staff related to specific project activities
  • Researching and refining internal process, deliverables and methodologies

QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • 6+ years of experience
  • True passion for design strategy and service design
  • Focus on creative standards and client needs
  • Ability to look at business models and customer experience from a wide perspective
  • A background in experience design, business strategy, service design or related fields
  • You’re not a ‘fly on the wall’ in collaborative sessions. Yes, we want to hear your thoughts and opinions!
  • You like being a member of a design family, not just punching a clock
  • You’re on top of the latest digital trends both in terms of strategy methods and industry standards with regards to client needs (in healthcare, education and finance)
  • You work well leading a project team and can manage your time and deadlines
  • You can dress up once in a while and meet our clients, with occasional travel
  • Comfortable communicating with clients and stakeholders
  • You absolutely love what you do

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to communicate ideas
  • Ability to conduct research, including heuristic analysis, contextual inquiries, quantitative and qualitative methodologies and onsite observations
